58° Sunny, wispy clouds, light air.
We had two days of cold for Christmas – 20s overnight, highs in the 30s. But back up near 60 today.
I didn’t write for the past couple days; I didn’t really feel like it after finding out my very dear friend Pat had died unexpectedly, just after midnight on Christmas Eve morning.
I’m heartbroken that my “adventures” with her won’t be part of this journal.
A bright red cardinal is calling high in the leafless tree above my seat on the patio. The sun makes his red even more brilliant. I’ve never noticed before, but all of the males are not the same bright red. Some seem more of a dull, grayish red. Not brown like the females, but not as vivid as other males. Are they younger males?
